LEARN THE  HISTORY.

MEET THE  COMMUNITY.

OUR HISTORY

Our journey began with a focus on HIV and later expanded to include Hepatitis C and other substance use issues, reflecting our commitment to harm reduction and community health.

In response to the HIV epidemic, community members came together to form QuIVAA Inc., which laid the foundation for QuIHN. QuIVAA Inc. remains an active part of our organisation, representing the interests of people who use drugs in Queensland.

As the needs of our communities evolved, so did our services. We expanded our focus to include Hepatitis C and broader substance use issues, always with a commitment to harm reduction and evidence-based practices.

OUR
COMMUNITY

Our community is the heart and soul of QuIHN. It's made up of a diverse and dedicated group of individuals who share a common goal: to create meaningful change in the lives of those who use drugs and alcohol.

Meet Our Peers Leaders

At QuIHN, our work is led by people with lived experience—peers who understand the challenges firsthand and are committed to providing empathetic, non-judgmental support. Our Peers are passionate advocates who bring their expertise and vision to help drive our mission forward.

Meet Our Peer Leaders

Our Vibrant Community

We are proud of the vibrant, inclusive community we have built. It’s a space where everyone is welcome, where experiences are shared, and where collective strength fosters hope and resilience. Our community is a testament to the power of connection, mutual support, and the belief that together, we can overcome challenges.

Our Partners

We don’t do this work alone. Our partnerships with other organisations, local groups, and supporters are vital to our success. Together, we collaborate to expand our reach, share resources, and  amplify the impact of our harm reduction efforts  across Queensland.

Our community is more than just the people we serve—it’s the foundation of everything we do. It’s where our mission comes to life, and where we see the real, lasting change that’s possible when we work together.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY
