INCLUSIVITY, DIVERSITY, AND OUR COMMITENT
TO THE  COMMUNITY

At QuIHN, inclusivity is a fundamental principle that guides everything we do. Our mission is rooted in the belief that every person, regardless of their background, deserves access to compassionate care, support, and the opportunity to live a life free from stigma. We are committed to embracing and celebrating the diversity of those who rely on our services.

QuIHN was born from a community response to the marginalisation and criminalisation of people who use drugs.

From the beginning, our work has focused on creating a space where everyone, regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation, or life experience, is treated with respect and dignity.

We are proud to be an organization that is client-centred and community-led, ensuring that all voices—especially those who have been historically excluded—are heard, respected, and empowered.

We acknowledge that people’s experiences with drug use are deeply shaped by their identities, cultures, and communities. That’s why our services are designed to be flexible and adaptive to meet the specific needs of diverse populations.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

QuIHN acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands we operate on and respects Elders past and present. We recognise the enduring knowledge, strength, and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and support truth-telling, cultural recognition, and lasting change.

STATEMENT OF INCLUSION

QuIHN recognises the strength, resilience, survival, and solidarity of people who use drugs and remembers those of the substance using community who are no longer with us. QuIHN values are underpinned by a social justice framework that respects diversity and difference and we are committed to providing fully inclusive, professional, and non-judgmental services to people of all cultures, languages, capacities, sexual orientations, gender identities and/or expressions.
