CONFIDENTIAL AND NON-JUDGMENTAL SUPPORT
At QuIHN, most of our staff have living and/or lived experience of drug use. All services provided through our NSP are completely confidential and non-judgmental as we are peers. We’re here to create a safe, supportive space where you can seek help and access the resources you need without fear of judgment.
FREE HEPATITIS C TESTING AND TREATMENT
We offer free comprehensive Hepatitis C testing and treatment for people who inject drugs. Early detection and treatment can improve health outcomes and help prevent the spread of the virus. If you’re concerned about Hepatitis C, our team is here to support you through testing and treatment options.
ACCESS NEW INJECTING EQUIPMENT
Our NSP offers free sterile injecting equipment, including needles, syringes, and other necessary supplies (to anyone that injects or uses illicit drugs) By providing access to new equipment, we help lower the risk of blood-borne viruses, infections and promote safer injecting practices.
FREE ACCESS TO NAXOLONE
Naloxone is a life-saving medication that can reverse opioid overdoses. Through our NSP, you can access Naloxone and receive training on how to use it in case you or someone you know drops (overdoses). Having Naloxone on hand could make all the difference in an overdose situation.
EDUCATION AND SUPPORT
We believe that education is key to making informed decisions about your health. Our NSP provides information on safe injecting practices, overdose prevention, and substance use. We also offer guidance on blood-borne viruses, sexual health (by offering free condoms and lube), and other important health concerns, helping you take control of your well-being. We can also link you in with other services depending on your needs.
FIND YOUR NEAREST NSP LOCATION
Our Needle and Syringe Program operates in several locations throughout Queensland. Find your nearest QuIHN NSP location to get the supplies and support you need.
Vending Machines
In a discreet location outside our Brisbane and Townsville Needle and Syringe program locations, we have vending machines that dispense 1ml and 3mls syringe packs. The vending machines take 2 x $1 coins and can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
