Joint Session: Crack the System & The Peer Room: Inside Voice: Peer Perspectives on AOD Work in Correctional Settings

People with experience of incarceration bring vital insight into how we approach AOD support in custodial environments — and in the systems that people move through upon release. In this 90-minute online event, we centre the voices of peer workers who have lived through these spaces and now walk alongside others in them.

Together, we’ll explore:

• What peer work looks like inside
• Navigating boundaries, safety, and connection
• The strengths and challenges of being a peer with justice system experience
• How peer work is creating opportunities for dignity, trust, and change within rigid systems
