Needle Syringe Programs (NSP) are part of Australia ’s response to drug use under the philosophy of harm minimisation. NSP neither condemn nor condone drug use, rather they are a public health strategy that aims to reduce the harms associated with drug use for both the user and
the wider community.

QuIHN operates a Needle Syringe Program at 89-101 Gipps Street (corner of Ranwell Lane ) in Fortitude
Valley
, Brisbane:

Mon – Wed 9am – 8pm
Thursday 9am – 9pm
Friday 9am – 10pm
Saturday 10am – 10pm


The NSP offers
● sterile injecting equipment,
● safe disposal containers,
●printed resources,
● health promotion activities,
●referral to other health and welfare agencies,
●advice and support. Some material assistance in the form of free food and clothing is also available (donations are always welcome).

NSP staff respond to syringe disposal issues in the community and regularly contact local businesses to
