Needle & Syringe Program

Our NSPs offer a range of free and confidential services including access to safe injecting equipment, education and support around substance use, overdose, safe injecting practices, blood-borne viruses and sexual health.

We also provide access to Naloxone. Naloxone is a medication that anyone can use to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

Vending Machines

In a discreet location outside our Brisbane and Townsville Needle and Syringe program locations, we have vending machines that dispense 1ml and 3mls syringe packs. The vending machines take 2 x $1 coins and can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Most of the equipment at our NSP’s is free.

There may be some items that cost a small amount of money, like wheel filters and torniquets.

Yes.

If you get equipment from our NSP all we need to know if your age, post code and what drug you are using.

We are required to collect this data so we can track drug trends and make sure our services are meeting the needs of our community.
