The InHouse provides a range of services to the family, friends and/or partners of illcit drug users. These services include:
Crisis support – The opportunity to call or call-in for a one-off chat or chance to get off your chest a situation relating to illicit drug use that may be affecting you
Education – Access to the latest information on the affects of alcohol and drug use and best-practice approaches to treating abuse or dependence
Counselling – Individuals may access counselling to help best cope with a significant other’s illicit drug use
Group/Family Therapy – May be offered to help a family or group of friends together make changes as a unit that will further facilitate a client’s behavioural change
These services are offered on an ongoing basis.
The InHouse Project also runs a Significant Other Support (SOS) Workshop five times a year (every 2-3 months). The Significant Other Support Workshop will be a 6-hour workshop with sessions focusing on substance abuse/mental health education, emotional strength & boundaries, enhancing relationships and building networks of support.
The workshop has been designed to both distribute information to participants and gather information from participants to improve service/support provision. The SOS program realises that service provision to people involved with or experiencing dual diagnosis has at times fallen short, and looks to help fill this gap in services.
To speak with someone about this or any of the other InHouse Project services please call 36208100 from 9am to 5pm .
